Séguin, Lorraine Eva (née Huot) 1941-2022
The family announces with sorrow her death in Sudbury on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the age of 80. Daughter of the late Isidor and the late Glorina Huot. Loving wife of 59 years of Richard Séguin. Cherished mother of Michelle Veneman (Eric) of Washago, Brian Séguin (Dana) of Guelph, and Gary Séguin (Diana), also of Guelph. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Chelsea, Steven, Cameron, Cavin, Joel, Courtney, and Brandon. Sister to the late Rachelle Lahaie and Pauline Clément (Grégoire) of Sturgeon Falls.
Lorraine was born and raised in Noëlville, ON. She was loved and well respected by those she encountered, never having a bad word to say about anyone. She was a talented musician, having played the piano and keyboard, specializing in accompanying fiddle players. She loved old classic sing-a-longs and encouraged and motivated others to participate. She was at her best when singing and dancing in front of an audience. Lorraine and Richard spent twenty years being snowbirds in Zephyrhills, Florida where they played with other musicians entertaining bystanders in the downtown park. They also played and sang at most weekly jams on different nights run by other trailer parks. When it was her turn to sing, she would remove the microphone from the stand and start singing and dancing all over the stage. All musicians and attendants were well entertained. Her motto was “you have to have stage presentation!” and that she did! Lorraine will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
