Louise Mathieu (née Gladu)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louise Mathieu (Gladu), age 66, on February 16th 2026, at Maison McCulloch Hospice, surrounded by family with much care and compassion.
Louise was born on March 8, 1959, in Sudbury and made her home in St. Charles, where she built a life centered on love, family, and devotion to those closest to her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Daniel Mathieu; her children, Christine (Dan) and Danny and her cherished grandchildren, Amy, Braeden, Danny Jr., Kaiden, and Avery, who were truly the apple of her eye. Louise’s love for her family was fierce and unwavering, and nothing brought her greater joy than time spent with them.
She is also survived by her siblings: Lilliane (Robert), Carole (Cléo), Réjeanne (Mike), Lorraine (Don), Fern (Rose), and Alain (Val). Mother In-Law Rollande as well as Bothers and Sisters In-Law Ernie (Hélène) Leo, Louise as well as her many nieces and nephews. She held a special place in her heart as godmother to Blondie.
Louise was predeceased by her mother, Edith Gladu (Boyd); her father, Fernand Gladu and her great-nephew, Riley Salemink.
Known for her bright and beautiful smile that could light up any room, Louise had a spirited personality. She spoke her mind, shared her thoughts honestly, and was often witty, bringing laughter to those around her. Her warmth, strength, and deep love for her family will be remembered always.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements are finalized.
In lieu of flowers, Donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice in her memory would be greatly appreciated.
Louise’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
