Marlene Patricia Desbois (January 7, 1938 - August 21, 2025)Mar
It is with sadness that the family of Marlene Patricia Desbois announces her peaceful passing in Levack, Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the age of 87 years. She was born on January 7, 1938, in Vancouver, British Columbia to Theodore Samuel Christie and Patricia Wilson.
Marlene will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Cindra (Bruno), Collene, and Tara (Eric), as well as her two stepsons, Patrick (Darlene) and Roger. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Alicia, Katelyn, Dakota, Maxwell, Trevor, Jasmine, and Justin. She is also survived by her brothers, Ronald and Fred, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert "Bert" Desbois, and her siblings Kreastena, Daine, Archie, and Dona.
A talented and passionate artist, Marlene especially loved painting. She had a generous spirit, often creating hand-knitted outfits for premature babies that she donated to local hospitals. Her creativity extended to handmade dolls and baby blankets, which were well known at local markets in her community.
Originally from British Columbia, Marlene moved to Ontario in her thirties, spending most of her life in Northern Ontario. She found great joy in the outdoors and loved fishing alongside her husband, Bert.
In keeping with Marlene's private nature and her deep love of nature, there will be no formal funeral service. Her final wish was to have her remains scattered in the mountains, a request that will be honored in a private ceremony with her loved ones.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
