Laface, Mazie 1949-2022
A long-time resident of Sudbury, ON, with a 13-year stint on Manitoulin Island, Mazie passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the age of 73 years. Daughter of the late William and Olive Moore. Dearly beloved wife of Richard (predeceased). Loving mother of Yvonne (Bonni) (Richard Deschamps), Annette (Mike Panzani), Richard (Kari Huntington) and Cynthia (predeceased). Proud grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and cherished great-grandmother to seventeen great-grandchildren. Mazie is also survived by many brothers and sisters with countless generations of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mazie had the pleasure of helping the needy as a manager for the Blue Door Café (previously Catholic Charities Soup Kitchen) for many years. Mazie’s biggest pleasure in life was helping anyone she could, she would go without if someone needed it more. She loved to knit, bake, play bingo and create diamond paintings. She was an honourable, selfless woman who was always happy, didn’t let things bother her and she would follow it up with her well known saying “Oh Well…” Mazie will be missed by many, but her memories will be fondly cherished by all who had the great pleasure to know and love her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
