Michael Gauvreau

Born August 15, 1960 in Sudbury Ontario to Leo Gauvreau (Deceased) and Evelyn Gauvreau. Cherished husband to Lisa Gauvreau. Loving & adoring dad to Vanessa McAvoy (Shawn) and Jessica Gauvreau. He adored and cherished his grandkids Ireland, Catherine, Shawn Jr, Cooper and Eve Marie.

Loving brother to Lisa Rouillard (Peter) and their children Erynn and Carter. Sister-in-law Debbie Rainville (Roger), Richard Loiselle (Sue) and Danny Loiselle. Mother-in-law Pearl Freeland (Deceased). Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Mike completed a college technology diploma in Metallurgy. Employment started in Northern Ontario and soon after was able to move around the province in the gold mining industry. A brief touch in a flying career as a commercial helicopter pilot.

Mike got married not long after and had 2 children, at that point he started his career with Falconbridge Nickel Mines with a 30-year career ending with Glencore retiring in 2020.

Mike enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, especially bringing his grandkids fish, golfing, ATVing and snowmobiling.

He says goodbye for now to his loved ones, but he will always be in their hearts till we meet again. Donations to be made to McCulloch Hospice in lieu of flowers.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday November 17th, 2023 beginning at 3pm at the St-John’s Cemetery in Garson along with the columbarium burial.
