Mike (Robert Micheal) McKim

Mike McKim (Robert Micheal) peacefully at Health Sciences North Hospital Sudbury June 14 in his 78th year.

Predeceased by his parents Sam and Myrtle McKim (nee Bumstead). Very loved by his friend and partner of 43 years Chris Blake, his sister Sandra Johnstone, nieces Cindy Gervais (Guy), Cheryl Johnstone and great nieces and nephew Lennie, Sarah, Hobbes and Christopher.

Mike was born in Meaford and attended Elementary and High School there. Following a few years working in banking in the St. Marys area Mike returned to Meaford in the early 1980’s where his skilled hobby of refurbishing antique furniture became Mike’s Refinishing which in time operated out of King’s Court Antique Market Thornbury co-managed by Mike.

Family and friends were valued by Mike ... a reliable companion he enjoyed a coffee chat, helping on a project, annual camping trips to see folks and recalling stories of a past Meaford.

In retirement computers and techie toys became his passion readily helping his senior circle with their cell phones or tablets. In keeping with Mikes wishes there will be no funeral and cremation has taken place.

The family are thankful for the attentive, compassionate care given to him these past few weeks at NHS Hospital and last year at Meaford Hospital.
