Obituary

Morris Ronald Keller (January 31, 1934 – May 17, 2023)

Wilhamine Anne Keller (née Clarke) (June 19, 1936 – May 17, 2023)

Together as always, Morris & Willie Keller passed peacefully at home.

They are lovingly remembered by their children Kirk (Grace), Perry (Sofia), and Scott (Daphne).  They will be missed by their grandchildren Katherine (Greg), Shane (Kaleigh), Kristopher (Kristy), Terri (Zac), Lindsay (Rob), Ryan (Ashleigh), Kolby, Kelsie (Braydon), Dylan, Roxy, Amber and great-grandchildren Madeline, Nicholas, Nate, Ty, Elizabeth, Victoria, Grayson, Kinsley, Crew, Jocelyn, Adaline, and Greyson.  They are also remembered by extended family and friends.

Morris and Willie shared their lives for over 70 years. They were dedicated partners in everything they did.  They started their family in Sudbury where Morris worked for the Sudbury Star as the Press Superintendent.  However, their hearts belonged on Manitoulin.  In the late 1960’s they started the transition back to Manitoulin with the purchase of Camp Mary Anne.  As a family, they successfully ran the camp for many years.  Morris went on to be partners in O Bond & Sons and Willie purchased the Rock & Rail Gift Shop. Later in life, they split their time between Manitoulin and Mexico, a place close to their hearts.

Morris and Willie were dedicated life-long volunteers.  They were avid travellers and actively involved in the Manitoulin and Ajijic, Mexico communities. They loved to spend time with family and good friends, and always had time for a drink or an evening of fine dining.

Morris and Willie were the foundation of the Keller family. They were the love of each other’s lives and their relationship set an example for all those around them.  Morris had a wicked sense of humour, was a skilled gardener, well versed in global events, an avid reader, and was the epitome of a gentleman.  Willie loved to bake, curated a beautiful home, had a famous finger wag, filled her home with music and was the definition of a proper lady.

The Keller family asks that you honour their legacy by living life to the fullest. Pour a drink and raise a glass in celebration of the remarkable lives of Morris & Willie Keller.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Donations can be directed to the Manitoulin Health Centre. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
