Nancy Leeson (née Sisson)

November 6, 1946 – April 3, 2026

In loving memory of Nancy Leeson (née Sisson), who passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, April 3, 2026, in Gore Bay, Ontario, at the age of 79.

Beloved wife of the late Danny Dale Leeson.

Nancy was the cherished daughter of the late Clinton and Clara Sisson (née Elgin). She was a devoted and loving mother to Brenton Wayne (Lori) and Bradley Dale “Dude” (Ashley), a second mother to Scott McCarthy and a very proud Nana to Trinity Paige, Tyler Wayne, Hazel Mae, and Tanner Finn, who brought great joy to her life.

She was the beloved sister of Colleen “Bids” McGauley, (Darrel predeceased), Karen (predeceased) and sister-in-law of Red (Maurice) McCarthy (predeceased). Nancy will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom will carry her memory forward with love.

Nancy owned and operated The Wigwam Gift Shoppe & Motel for over 50 years.

Nancy’s greatest joy in life was taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She never missed a hockey game, loved to go boating and enjoyed beach days at Carter’s Bay always bringing her spread of snacks for everyone.

Nancy had a passion for curling and was very proud to have coached her “Special O’s”, they were very near and dear to her heart. She was the “life of the party” at many ladies’ bonspiels and was known for her humorous props and costumes during skit times.

Nancy loved to travel to the sunny South with her family and friends. She had a flair for fashion and enjoyed getting dressed up. She was the “hostess with the mostess” loved to dance and sip on a glass of red wine or vodka and club soda full of limes!

As per Nancy’s wishes a “Celebration of Life”, will take place at her family home in South Baymouth on May 23, 2026. Details to follow
