In Loving Memory of Nello Tasso 

October 7, 1938 - March 9, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Nello Tasso, age 87, on March 9, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Nello was husband to the beloved Lucy (Falcioni) Tasso (predeceased), father to Julie (Andrew Farrow) and Michael (Olyana), and proud grandfather to Lexi and Stanislav.

Born October 7, 1938, in Padule, Italy, Nello immigrated to Canada in the late 1950s, carrying with him the determination and work ethic that would define his life. Through perseverance and hard work, he built a successful career as a skilled tradesman and eventually founded his own tile and terrazzo company, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike for his craftsmanship and pride in his work.

Nello was known for his love of music and dancing (particularly the jive), and cherished time spent with friends playing cards at the Caruso Club. He will be remembered for his strength, resilience, and the life he built through dedication to his craft.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kaitlin Sheridan, the team at the Northeast Specialized Geriatric Centre, Roxanne, Aurelia and the compassionate staff on the 5th Floor Stroke Unit at HSN, particularly Chantal, Joseph and Sheila. Their kindness and unwavering care during Nello’s final days brought great comfort to both him and our family, and their support will always be remembered with deep appreciation.

Donations in Nello’s memory may be made to Health Sciences North Foundation - MAID Program.

A celebration of life with close family and friends will be organized at a later date.

Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
