September 17, 1951 – April 21, 2021

The family announces with heavy hearts the passing of Paul Delay on Wednesday April 21, 2021 at the age of 69. Son of the late Jean-Baptiste Delay and the late Desneige Delay (née Girard). Beloved husband of Suzanne Delay (née Schryer), together for 50 years. Loving father of Angele Delay (Stephane Audet) and Christine Delay (Abdullah Baaqil). He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren Alexa Delay-Audet, Devin Delay-Audet and Murphy Jacks Delay-Baaqil, all of whom loved him deeply. Paul is survived by many friends and extended family, including his nephews Andre Delay, Marc Delay, and Dan Delay.

Paul truly lived life to the fullest. He was a strong, hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. He was a miner for 30+ years, an avid Harley rider, a music lover, and a nature enthusiast. Being outside in the bush brought him great joy. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Paul loved his family fiercely. His favourite times were spent laughing with family and friends, along with his furry companion Molly at his feet. His quick wit, stories, and jokes will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

The family would like to thank Health Sciences North, but especially Dr. Roch, Dr. Singh and the amazing team on the Palliative unit for the care, compassion, and kindness throughout Paul’s stay. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative unit at HSN would be greatly appreciated by family. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
