Ojalammi, Peter John (1953 – 2025)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Peter John Ojalammi on August 17, 2025, at the age of 72.

Peter was a devoted and loving father to Carla (Alain) Michaud and Matthew (Renée) Ojalammi, and the proud “Pappa” of Dominic, Andrew, Sophie, Elyse, Loïk, and Hugo. He was the cherished son of Marjatta (Ojalammi) Vainio and the late Aate Ojalammi and will be deeply missed by his brother Paul (Bev) Ojalammi, sister Linda Attfield, and all who were fortunate to know him.

Those closest to Pete will remember his passion for good music, his love of classic films, and, above all, his ritual morning coffee. A true history enthusiast, he delighted in thoughtful conversation and could often be found immersed in a book. His friends and family treasure the many mixed tapes he created over the years—carefully curated from his vast collection—as gifts that reflected his love and creativity.

Pete was a man of kindness and humility who found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in sharing laughter with others.

In keeping with his wishes, a small family service will be held at a later date. To honour his memory, donations to Finlandia Village are welcome. His children also invite you to share your favourite memory of Pete—whether lighthearted or heartfelt—as they are compiling a journal to celebrate the many stories, adventures, and moments that defined his life.
