It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Shaver on Monday, June 15, 2026, in Sudbury, Ontario, at the age of 81.
Peter was the beloved son of the late Robert Shaver and the late Rhoda Frost. He will be forever cherished by his loving wife and life partner, Liliane Dugas.
He leaves behind his children: Richard Shaver (Amanda), Tracey Lynn Shaver, Jimmy Shaver, Louise Gagnon (Damien), and Joanne Beauvais (Richard). Peter was predeceased by his brothers Donald, Larry, Arthur, and Tommy.
He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren—Michel, Amy, Marc, Ashley, Paige, Erick, Graham, and Noah—as well as his nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Pete will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Raymond Dugas (Vicky), Roger Dugas (Rosanna), Estelle Dugas, and Lise Dugas (Darren). He held a special place in the hearts of Diane and Lawrence Lapointe, both predeceased. Peter will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Peter dedicated many years to the flooring industry as a business owner in Val Caron before embarking on a successful and respected career as a real estate agent. Through his work and his life, he built a reputation founded on integrity, kindness, and dedication.
A loving and devoted family man, Pete took great pride in those he loved. Among his many passions, he was an avid golfer and a devoted sports fan who rarely missed a game on television.
He especially enjoyed sharing meals with loved ones, with a fondness for Chinese food that he delighted in celebrating on special occasions.
Pete’s warmth, positivity, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His constant encouragement, thoughtful compliments, and genuine kindness made him a truly special man. He embraced each day as a gift, never taking a moment for granted, and often reflected with gratitude, saying, “I’ve lived a good life.”
His love, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
