Renaud, Phil (Phillip) (1946 - 2023)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Phillip Renaud in Sudbury, Sunday, April 30th, 2023 at the age of 76 years. Son of the late Adrien Renaud and of the late Flora-Belle Renaud (née McKenzie). Survived by his loving wife Lorraine Renaud (née Gravel). Dear father of Phillipe Jr. (Pauline) and Michelle Leblanc (Serge). He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kyle (Angela), Courtney (Jim), and Kelsey Leblanc as well as his great-grandchildren Ayden, Dustin, Emily, Malika and Nikolas. Dear brother of Maurice (Maritta), Rheal (Carmen) and Suzie Taillefer (Pete). Predeceased by his sister Claire Matson (Graham).
Phil worked at Falconbridge Mine in Ventilation and Land Surveying and volunteered with the Dowling Fire Department where he became Captain of the Vermillion Lake Fire Hall.
Phil never let health challenges from polio and hearing loss stop him from being the wonderful person he was. He grew up with a strong sense of purpose, was a leader in his community and was always there to lend a helping hand. Phil was a chairman of the Northern Columbian Squires and volunteered with the Knights of Columbus. He organized and led various youth programs, events and sports leagues. He will be remembered for his lifelong dedication to his family and community. In later years, Phil's greatest past time was playing the slots with his lifelong partner Lorraine.
The family would like to thank St. Gabriel's Villa for all the care and compassion throughout this last year.
