It is with great sadness that the family of Pierrette Bleau (née Laforge), announce her peaceful passing on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at Health Sciences North, at the age of 81.
Born in St-Charles, Ontario, Pierrette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life revolved around family, laughter, and love. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Pat Bleau, and her children: John Bleau (Christine), Paul Bleau (Patricia), and Carole Palmateer. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Michelle Bleau (Josh Lelièvre), Patrick Bleau, Jacob Bleau (Jessica), Alex Bleau, Christian Czyrski, Gabriel Czyrski, and Grace Czyrski, and a cherished great-grandmother to Aaron Lelièvre and Sofia Bleau.
Pierrette is also survived by her brother Denis Laforge (Rosa), as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
She was predeceased by her parents, Hector and Rose-Emma Laforge; her brothers Larry and Ron; and her sisters Rachel, Georgette, and Jackie.
Pierrette had a special love for children and found her greatest joy in babysitting her grandchildren. She was an avid fan of Wheel of Fortune—and impressively good at it—took up golf later in life and treasured the time she spent laughing with her brothers and sisters and the time she spent hosting family at Nelson Lake. Her warmth, sense of humour, and gentle presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 17th, 6:00 - 9:00pm at Simple Wishes, 1106 on The Kingsway. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 18th, 11:00 am at St. Jean de Brébeuf Church, followed by a luncheon in the church reception area downstairs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation.
Pierrette’s family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences North for their care and compassion. She will be remembered always for her kindness, her love of family, and the joy she brought into so many lives.
Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
