April 21st, 1948 – May 16th, 2026

In loving memory of Pierre Danis, who passed away peacefully in the arms of his family on May 16th, 2026, at Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury, at the age of 78 years.

Loving husband of 56 years of Gertrude Danis (née Leduc). Beloved father of Joël (Tanya) Danis and Eric (late Anilla) Danis. Cherished grandfather of Elyssa, Brayden (Kelsey), Owen, and Alaina. Dear brother of Robert (Michelle), Normand (Danielle), Lucie (Guylain), Lili (Michel). Predeceased by his parents René Danis and Rita Bérubé, and his sister Diane (Normand).

Pierre loved mining so much that, after retiring from Falconbridge following 33 years of dedicated service, he continued working underground, building an impressive career that spanned a total of 50 years. He was a hardworking man who always took pride in doing the job right. Generous and dependable, Pierre would drop anything to help someone in need. Above all, family meant everything to him. He will be fondly remembered for his many lively French conversations, his charismatic personality, and his wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to those around him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice for their compassion, care, and support during Pierre’s final days. We could not have asked for a more comforting place to say our farewells.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
