Rachel Patricia Upchan (Delamorandière) 

May 13, 1992 – March 29, 2021 

With great sadness, the family of Rachel Patricia Upchan (nee Delamorandière) announces her passing at her home in Lively, Ontario on Monday, March 29th, 2021 at the age of 28 after a nearly three-year battle with Leukemia. Rachel was born May 13, 1992 and was raised in Lively, Ontario.  

Rachel’s greatest pride in life was her husband Eric and their 4 year old daughter, Autumn. Despite the challenges of cancer in recent years, Rachel, Eric, and Autumn had many adventures together. They have fond memories of Santa’s Village, Parc Omega, and Rachel’s parents’ house in Webbwood. Rachel loved her family with everything she had. She will always be remembered for her extravagant love of hair colours, high-heeled shoes, and magical unicorns. She was one of a kind. The ferocity with which she and her family battled the cancer was nothing short of miraculous.  

Rachel will be greatly missed by her young daughter Autumn and her husband Eric. She will also be missed by her parents, Alex and Connie, mother-in-law Monique, father in-law Nick, her siblings, Rebeka, Adam and sisters-in-law Kyra and Jacklyn. She was the beloved granddaughter of Patricia and the late Julien Delamorandière, Kay and the late Lawrence Cashmore. Rachel will be lovingly remembered by nieces Emma, Brooke, Rayah and nephew Jayden. She will be missed by many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  

Although it brings us peace to know Rachel is with our Lord and Saviour, our hearts are full of sorrow and grief. We will always remember Rachel’s bravery, strength, and determination.  

The family will be hosting a service to celebrate Rachel’s life. However, because of the current pandemic, the service will be by invitation only.  In lieu of flowers Rachel requested that loved ones make donations to New Life Women's Home, a year long program in Trenton Ontario, which provided Rachel with the supports needed to heal physically, emotionally and spiritually as a young woman.
