Rachelle Pilon Obituary

Rachelle Pilon (née Hérard)

January 6th, 1949 – April 23rd, 2026

With profound sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Rachelle Pilon (née Hérard) on April 23rd, 2026, with her loved ones by her side. She left this world without pain, just as she lived in it, with grace, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to others.

Rachelle was known for always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She found joy in helping anyone who needed support, whether family, friends, neighbors, or strangers. Her generosity extended far beyond her immediate circle; for many years she faithfully supported numerous charities, quietly living her values through consistent acts of compassion.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, Rachelle’s greatest pride was her family. She will be deeply missed by her children Suzanne Leon (Dave) and Denis Pilon (Josée); her cherished grandchildren Matthew, Micheal, Christopher, Martin, and Daniel; and her beloved great‑grandchildren Octavia, Vadah, and Lincoln, who brought her endless joy.

Rachelle had a wonderful sense of humor and a warm, welcoming smile that made everyone feel at ease. Friendly, gentle, and full of light, she was truly a beautiful person inside and out. She adored animals, especially her beloved companions Callie and Rambo.

Born to Paul Hérard of Verner (predeceased) and Lorette Hérard (née Boire) of Gogama (predeceased), Rachelle grew up in a large and loving family. She is predeceased by siblings Gérald Hérard (Florianne), Colette Hérard, and Marie Roy (Guy). She is survived by siblings Andre Hérard (Georgette), Raymond Hérard (Lorraine), Anita Gagnon (Gérald), Denis Hérard, Diane Lachance (Omer), and Monique Levac (Pierre). Her bond with her siblings was lifelong and deeply treasured.

Rachelle’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and love. She touched countless lives with her gentle spirit and leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday May 3rd, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Simple Wishes of the North, 1106 Kingsway, Sudbury. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and honor Rachelle’s beautiful life.

The family extends a heartfelt thank‑you to Diane, Monique, and Denis for the love, support, and countless acts of kindness they offered during Rachelle’s final months. Their presence meant more than words can express.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maison McCullough Hospice, whose staff provided exceptional compassion and dignity throughout Rachelle’s time there.

May she rest in peace, reunited with those who went before her, and forever remembered by those whose lives she brightened.
