September 21st, 1949 – March 9th, 2026

In loving memory of Rand Wayne Cashmore who passed away peacefully with loving family by his side on Monday, March 9, 2026, in Sudbury.

Born in Sudbury, Rand was the son of the late Lawrence and Kathleen Cashmore (née King).

Rand was the beloved husband of Katie “Kathy” Cashmore. He will be dearly missed by his siblings: Larry Cashmore (predeceased) (Sharon), Dale Mansfield, Debbie Casserly (predeceased), Myles Cashmore (Holly), Connie Delamorandrier (Alex), Christine Gregorous, Shelly Gauthier (Terry), and Owen Cashmore (Sharon).

He was also a cherished brother-in-law to  Linda McCarthy; Brenda Trousil (Gary); Bev Mousseau (Ron); Donna Marier (predeceased) (Lorne); Doreen Zimmerman (predeceased) (Gord); Joanne McCarthy (Steve); Patsy McCarthy (Gates); Norman McCarthy (predeceased), Tim McCarthy (Louise), Carol McCarthy; Mark McCarthy (Nadine); Lee Ann McCarthy (predeceased); and Sherry McCarthy (Sly), his favorite nurse.

Rand will be fondly remembered as a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing and especially treasured family gatherings, where his presence and stories brought people together.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Pioneer Manor for their care and compassion for Rand.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lockerby Legion, 2200 Long Lake Road, Sudbury, on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Donations in Rand’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Sudbury or Pioneer Manor and would be greatly appreciated.

Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
