Richard Gauthier

With heavy hearts, the family wishes to announce the passing of Richard Vital Gauthier on September 2nd, 2023 at the age of 75 years. Every person who was lucky enough to know Richard Gauthier knew the meaning of a positive mental attitude and was familiar with the saying “very much good”. This was always his response when you asked him how he was, and he meant it no matter what he may have been dealing with at the time. He had the ability to stroll through obstacles that would have beaten a lesser man.  His appreciation for things that may seem trivial to some was timeless and unwavering. Richard’s “joy de vivre” and determination will forever remain a fond memory for all of us. Born on July 10th, 1948, he was the cherished son of Vital (Vic) and Marcelle Gauthier (predeceased), Richard grew up an integral member of 4 sons and 4 daughters. Denis (Vivianne predeceased), Gary (predeceased), Larry (Giselle), Johanne Dunphy (Tom), Lynn McKerral (Len), Maxine Quenneville (Mike) and Tina. Richard leaves behind his 2 beloved children, Klein (Theresa) and Eliot as well as 3 grandchildren Raina, Rayva and Ravelyn. Although his travels have taken him all over the world in his lifetime, he decided it was “time to come home” back in Sudbury just a few months ago. His premonition was correct as he is now on his next journey. As per Richard’s wishes, the family will have a private celebration of his life in lieu of visitation and interment. Richard will truly be missed and will be remembered fondly. RIP
