Maki, Richard (1939 – 2025)
Richard Arne Maki passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2025, surrounded with love. A cherished only child, son of Arne and Sylvia Maki (both predeceased). Survived by his wife, Barbara and three children, John (Gisele), Lisa Smith (Steve), Karen Prosperi (Anthony) and his grandchildren, Kaitlin, Christopher, Mia, Jillian, Jack and Spencer. He was smart, kind, thoughtful, humorous, handy and creative. Our dad enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camp life and prospecting. He was an engineer of sorts, always finding creative ways to fix things and had a very inventive mind. A completely devoted son, father, grandfather and husband. He will be greatly missed, especially by his beautiful wife of 58 years. Such an incredible man he was.
A very special thank you to Dr. Thakrar, Dr. Larsen, Norm Blanchard, the wonderful staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice and the loving support from family and friends.
At his request, there will be no visitation or service. Richard will be laid to rest at Park Lawn Cemetery. A celebration of life with family and close friends will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated.Ric
