Richard Potvin (March 9, 1971 – May 4, 2026)

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard “Rick” Potvin announce his passing in Greater Sudbury on May 4, 2026, at the age of 55.

Rick was the beloved son of the late Richard Potvin and Suzanne Potvin (née Vaillancourt). Dear father of Megan(Joe) and Maija(Brady), Rick’s greatest pride was his family. He was predeceased by his sister Lynn and will be deeply missed by his brother Danny, his cousin Jamie (Vicki-Sue)  and by Pamela Kainola Potvin, the mother of his children. He will also be sadly missed by many aunts and uncles, cousins, his nephews and nieces, and many dear friends.

Rick was proud to own and operate his own countertop business for many years. Through his hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship, he earned the respect of his clients and formed many lasting friendships along the way. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and the connections he made throughout his life.

Rick loved sports and was an avid fan throughout his life. He enjoyed playing golf, hockey, and baseball, and especially treasured the time he spent coaching his daughters’ hockey teams over the years. He was incredibly proud of Megan and Maija and all of their accomplishments.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Cremation services are entrusted to Simple Wishes of the North and Crystal Crematorium.
