It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden and peaceful passing of Richard "Rick" Sylvestre on February 6, 2020 at his home in Sudbury at the age of 67. Loving son of Rejeanne Sylvestre (nee Crepeau)(Angelo predeceased). Father and best friend of Mignonne "Mimi" Edwards and the proud father-in-law of Tyler Edwards. Cherished Grandpa of Owen and Ethan, who will always remember his kindness and generosity, as Grandpa loved to spoil his boys. Forever remembered by his brother Michel "Mike" (Nancy), sister Micheline and nephews Jesse (Caroline), Zach, Nicolas and Adam. He will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially his life-long buddy Nick. Rick was an incredibly kind, gentle, patient and selfless person who loved to spend time with his family and friends. His daughter and grandsons were the pride and joy of his life and his spirit will live on through them. He was a devoted father, never missing his daughter's hockey games and always silently encouraging her from the stands. Rick retired from a long and successful career with Canada Post. After retirement, he could often be found spending time at the family camp on Kukagami Lake and out on his pontoon boat bringing people to his favourite fishing spots, where he was known to lose an anchor or 2 every once in a while. In respecting Richard's wishes, no funeral service will be held and the family will gather for a celebration of his life at a later date. "The best portion of a good man's life is his little nameless unremembered acts of kindness and of love"-Tintern Abbey, William Wordsworth, poet. Arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North Sudbury.
