It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Robert Karl Geick on January 3rd, 2025 in Sudbury, Ontario at the age of 58. Beloved husband of Tanja Geick (nee Vukovic), and loving father to Robbie and Loren. Sadly missed by his mother Jeanette Martin (Geick) and step-father Jerry Martin. (he was the son of the late Robert William Geick). Also grieving are his sisters, Tracey Georgiou (Tony), Shelly Geick (Robert Gillies, predeceased) and step siblings, Patrick Martin and Jenny Martin. Brother-in-law to Zvonko Vukovic (Laura). He was a wonderful uncle to Zoran, Vyla, Zoltan and Vaida Vukovic, Demetra and Nicholas Georgiou, Drew Metatawabin, Bobbie and Danica Gillies. He leaves behind his Godmother Sandra Geick-Morrison, Uncles and Aunt, Steve Geick, Wayne and Pat Geick. He will also be missed by many cousins and other extended family. Rob was born and raised in Sudbury and attended Laurentian University and then Brock University. He worked as a Liaison Officer for Laurentian for a short time and then was employed by the Greater Sudbury Police in 1990 where he became the first K9 Officer in 1994. After he retired in 2011, he went to work at Fountain Tire and will be missed by the friends he made there. Rob was a kind-hearted, wonderful man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had many great friends who he loved to spend time with, at camp, on trips, or just in the backyard. Nobody was more important to him than his children Robbie and Loren. They were the light of his life and no one was more proud of their accomplishments. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all. As per his wishes there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
