Rodney Tarini Obituary

Tarini, Rodney (1968-2025)

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear son, brother and uncle, Rodney Tarini at the age of 57.

Beloved son of Joyce Tarini and Virginio Tarini (predeceased). Cherished brother of Gloria Wohlfahrt (predeceased) (late Paul Wohlfahrt), Beverly Neilly (Rob), Janet Tarini and Sonny Tarini. Loving uncle to Lindsay Bowcott (Jesse), Derrick Wohlfahrt (Isabelle), Samuel Neilly, Jennifer Neilly (Ghyshan), Eilish Neilly (Matt), Katie Dennie and Matthew Dennie.

Rod always said he had a good life, and he truly meant it. He filled his years with adventure, joy and the simple moments that made him feel alive.

Whether he was knee-boarding or barefooting across the water, carving fresh powder from a helicopter drop or snowmobiling hundreds of miles through the open trails, Rod embraced life with a spark that was all his own. He lived for the thrill, for the freedom and for the feeling of being out in the world, doing what he loved.

But more than anything, he lived with kindness. People were drawn to him, his easy smile, his gentle nature, the way he made everyone feel welcome.

For the past 25 years, many in our community knew him best by his smiling face at Smith’s Markets, where he proudly ran the meat department.

He treated everyone who walked through those doors with warmth, patience, and genuine kindness. To customers and coworkers alike, he wasn’t just someone behind the counter, he was a familiar face, a steady presence, and a dear friend.

Always by his side was his beloved dog Buddy, his loyal shadow and one of the greatest joys in his life.

We will miss his laughter, practical jokes, his quiet courage, and the way he reminded us to embrace life.

Though our hearts are broken, we hold tight to the memories he gave us and the love he shared so freely.

Rod lived a good life. He made ours better. He will forever be loved.

Heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Health Sciences North

Memorial donations can be made in his name with the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  https://app-hsfdonation.heartandstroke.ca/
