Montpellier, Ronald (Dec 8, 1947 - Mar 26, 2025)

Ronald Montpellier, beloved husband, father, grand-papa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, passed away on March 26, 2025 at Health Sciences North.  He was 77 years old. 

Born on December 8, 1947, in Sudbury, ON, Ron was the son of Lucien and Marie-Jeanne Montpellier (predeceased).

Known for his sharp wit and an unmatched sense of humour, he had a knack for turning even the toughest moments into something to smile about. His strength of character and perseverance were as legendary as his well-timed pranks, which kept family and friends on their toes and filled every gathering with laughter. He believed life was meant to be enjoyed, and he embraced every moment with a twinkle in his eye. He made every day brighter for those around him.

Ron worked as a miner for 37 years and spent most of his life farming. His farm in Morgan was a great source of joy and pride for him, and a place full of special memories for his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Gabrielle Montpellier, and survived by his loving daughters Josée (Bill) and Ginette (Joseph (predeceased)). He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren, Jessica (Riley) and Alex (Kaitlyn) who brought him endless joy, as well as his siblings with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and lasting memories, Maurice (Claudette), Normand (Nicole), Lise (Brian).  He is also lovingly remembered by his family-in-law Richard (Noella), Normand (predeceased), Léo (Gisèle), Léonne (Eddie), Gilles (Sylvia), Monique, Diane (John), and his many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Extended family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Club 50 in Chelmsford. Cremation has taken place and a burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Ron’s memory are appreciated. Donations can be made online at www.heartandstroke.ca
