It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Paul Nadjiwon at the age of 77 years on Wednesday December 18, 2024 at Health Sciences North.
Beloved husband of 56 years to Nancy Nadjiwon (Steele). Loving father of Leanne Urso (Rich) and Lisa Schiller (Chris). Proud Grandpa of Adam, Matthew, Hannah and Gwen. Cherished son of the late Leonard and Ann Nadjiwon and son-in-law of the late Allan and Meg Steele. Dear brother of Charles, Brian (Cathy), Lynne Donnelly (late Barry), Janice Puddy (Michael), Susan Ferrans (Dan), Michael (Lianne). He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Ron was a dedicated and passionate teacher with the Rainbow District School Board for 30 years, touching numerous lives during his career. He also volunteered countless hours coaching various school teams. He was a talented and prolific artist and served as the president of the Walden Art Club, and as an art teacher at the ParkSide Older Adult Centre, where he acted as a mentor to many upcoming artists. In his younger, healthier years, he loved the outdoors - hunting, fishing and hiking. One of his favourite places on earth was the family camp on Fairbank Lake. In his later years, Ron’s passion and joy was spending time with his grandchildren and bragging about them to anyone who would listen. He genuinely cared about and was interested in people and would lend an ear to anyone who needed it. More than anything, Ron loved life and had a laugh that rang out through the house.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Health Sciences North for all their caring, kindness and support. There will be a Celebration of Life at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada.
Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
