Samantha Jean Waawaabinoshekwe Homer - Corbiere baa born December 25, 1969, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was from the Turtle clan, Oneida and born in Chicago, Illinois.
She is survived by her mother Poky (Alex predeceased), her three children Teshenna (Amanda), Happy (Madison), and Quinton (Stacey), her grandchildren Chanelle, Maliyah, and Kyler, and her siblings Sky, Happy (predeceased) (Monica), Jason (Xochitl), Katsitsionni, Konwawihon, and Digwageehns (Aaron). She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Waawaabinoshekwe baa enjoyed traveling the powwow trail all over Turtle Island with her family and watching her children dance. She also enjoyed cheering on her children, watching them play different sports. Not only was she an animal lover, she also loved everyone loudly and fiercely. She bravely fought her battle with cancer head on. No matter the path life took her on, her door remained open to all. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at HSN medical ICU unit, especially Sam, Melissa and Lauren for their amazing care and support.
Her family will be having a celebration of life in her honor at a later date, Additional details to be announced shortly.
