DAVEY, Sandra (née McQuay) (1935 – 2025)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mom Sandra Jane (McQuay) Davey at the age of 90. Spouse of the late Douglas Davey, sister of the late Susan Strimas, daughter of the late Georgina (Cunningham) and of the late Harry McQuay of Owen Sound.

Mom is survived by her children Michael (Philomena Maier), Steven, Frances (Tony Wright), Diana (Tim Borton) and Shawn (Flakes the cat). She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Deris, Cara Vance, Dylan, Sydney, Darby and by her seven great grandchildren. Survived by her sister Frances Richard.  Mom will also be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as by her partner Paul.

Mom's greatest joy in life was her kids and being a grandma. She also loved playing the piano, researching family history and enjoying ice cream.

Special thanks to the Dr's, Nurses, and CAs of the Bond and Donnelly Wing of the St Michael's Hospital Toronto for providing excellent care to our mom. We also wish to express our gratitude to the Sudbury McCullough Hospice for the kindness, compassion, dignity and safe space provided for mom's final moments.

A celebration of life will be held on July 19, 2025, from 10:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. at the Thessalon Legion, downstairs.

Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
