Vivian Chalut

It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Vivian Chalut, who left this world peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by the family she cherished above all else.

Vivian was born on November 3, 1954, to Eddy and Yvonne Beauchamp. She grew up understanding the value of family, kindness, hard work, and generosity—qualities that would define the way she lived her entire life.

To know Vivian was to know warmth. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for. Family was not simply important to her—it was her life's purpose. She found joy in gathering people together around a table, sharing stories, celebrating milestones, and creating memories that would last long after the moment had passed. Her home, and later her hospice room, reflected the same thing: a place where people came together because love lived there.

Vivian was the devoted wife and best friend of Dave Chalut, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, challenges, and unwavering love. Together they built a family that became her greatest pride and joy.

She was a proud and loving mother to Tamara Beauchamp-Chalut, Jeremy Chalut (Julia), and Richard Chalut (Lauren). She was a cherished grandmother to Tessa Hynes (Alex), Lillia Chalut, Payton Chalut, William Chalut, Justin Chalut, and Jennifer Moisan (Eric). Her love continued through her great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Aria, Abigail, and Cayden, and she eagerly awaited the arrival of her newest great-granddaughter, Eleanor Hynes.

Vivian is survived by her loving husband Dave; her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; her sisters Carmen Young (Larry) and Madeline Sweeney (Dan); her brother Phillip Beauchamp; her sister-in-law Marion Chalut; and her brother-in-law Mike Chalut (Lorraine), her sister-in-law Ellen Chalut; her stepfather-in-law Lloyd Brown; and Lloyd's children, Debbie and Linda. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

She was predeceased by her parents, Eddy and Yvonne Beauchamp; her brother-in-law Kevin Chalut; her sister-in-law Cathy Chalut; her brother-in-law Charlie Chalut; her father-in-law Nelson Chalut; and her mother-in-law Annie Brown.

In her final days, Vivian was never alone. Her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, and loved ones gathered around her bedside day and night. Stories were shared, tears were shed, hands were held, and prayers were spoken. Those sacred moments brought her peace and brought comfort to those who loved her.

On the evening of her passing, a rare Blue Moon shone above. Outside the Maison McCulloch Hospice windows overlooking Bethel Lake, dark clouds rolled across the sky and large waves crashed against the shoreline. The family watched together as nature seemed to reflect the enormity of the moment they were living. Bethel, a name that carries the meaning "stairway to heaven," became the backdrop for Vivian's final journey.

When Vivian peacefully took her last breath on May 31, the water that had been restless for hours became still.

For her family, it was a moment they will never forget.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the extraordinary Maison McCulloch Hospice staff whose compassion, kindness, and dignity helped guide Vivian and her loved ones through this journey. Their care created a space filled not only with comfort, but with love.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Vivian's memory to the hospice that cared for her, Maison McCulloch Hospice, would be deeply appreciated by the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced once arrangements have been finalized.

Vivian's legacy is one of unconditional love. She taught those around her that the most meaningful things in life are not things at all, but moments shared with family, acts of kindness, and showing up for the people you love.

Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find comfort in knowing that love does not end when a life does. Her laughter lives on in family gatherings, her wisdom lives on in the lessons she taught, and her love lives on in every generation that follows.
