Wade Elmore
February 5th, 1980 – April 9th, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wade Elmore, on April 9th, 2026, in Sudbury, at the age of 46.
Wade was the beloved high school sweetheart and devoted husband of Jaimee Elmore (née Legault), and a proud and loving father to Hudson (Kylee) and Trent Elmore, who were the center of his world.
He was the cherished son of Doris Elmore and the late Hudson Elmore, and a dear younger brother to Chad (Kate) Elmore. Wade was also a proud and fun-loving uncle to Taylor, Kellie, Anna, Blake, Paige, and Ethan, all of whom he loved dearly. He will be lovingly remembered by his in-laws, Lionel and Shelley Legault, as well as his sister-in-law Jessica (Ernie) Taylor.
Wade was a quiet man with the most generous heart. He was always the first to lend a hand, especially when someone needed help with a project. A true jack-of-all-trades, Wade was known as a “redneck fix-it man,” whose creativity and resourcefulness came to life in his garage. Many of his inventions were born not only out of necessity, but from the simple joy of figuring things out, often beginning with his familiar words, “so I was thinking…”
Originally from Dowling, Wade settled in Blind River where he established his career and, together with his wife, raised their family. He worked in Information Technology, where he was respected not only for his technical ability and work ethic, but also for the strong connections and friendships he built. He proudly served for many years as a Lieutenant with the Blind River Fire Department, dedicating his time and energy to his community. He was equally committed to his family, always present and supportive in his sons’ extracurricular activities.
Wade had a presence when he entered a room, not only because of his height, but because of his big smile and warm laughter. He gave the best hugs and always brought life to any gathering. Wade found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, evenings by the fire, a good game of euchre (often boasting about his winning hands), and, most importantly, spending time with those he loved.
In keeping with Wade’s generous spirit, he gave the gift of life through organ donation.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring, with details to follow.
Donations may be made in Wade’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association (https://diabetes.ca/), in recognition of the impact diabetes had on his life.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
