Walter Schaefer (1929 – 2025)
With great sadness, the family of Walter Schaefer announces his passing in Sudbury, November 30, 2025, at the age of 96 years. Born in Boehl-Iggelheim, Germany, to Heinrich Schaefer and Katharina Haag on September 14, 1929, with his twin sister Ilse Schaefer (predeceased). He married Loni Hellmer (predeceased) and is a wonderful father to Dagmar Schaefer (Richard McMillan) and Heinrich Schaefer (Jayne Barnett). Walter has three grandchildren Tanja Schaefer (Darryl Chad Laframboise), Emily Schaefer (Adam Marbrow) and Lewis Schaefer (Daisy Weir). He also has two great-grandchildren Ella Laframboise and Damion McMillan (predeceased).
He is loved and will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of St. Joe’s Continuing Care, especially those in the Hillcrest community. We truly appreciate your support and the care that you have provided to Walter.
