•Professional consultation with licensed personnel, including, but not limited to, expert advice on options to meet your needs

•Coordination of all arrangements, before, during and after they have been provided, including services and supplies provided by us, as well as those provided by third party suppliers, such as death notices

Embalming of your loved one                                                                                                                                               $450.00

•Embalming is the process of replacing blood and bodily fluids with chemical preservatives. It is a process of sanitation, restoration, and temporary preservation. Embalming is not legally required but may be recommended to preserve the body between the time of death and the visitation or disposition of the deceased. Our professional funeral directors will make a recommendation based on the condition of the body and expected service needs.

Refundable Deposit for Cremated Remains

•When human remains are to be cremated, a refundable deposit of $350.00 will be required to be paid. If the cremated remains are not claimed within one year of the cremation, the deposit may be used to inter the cremated remains in common ground. If the cremated remains are claimed before they are interred, the deposit will be refunded.

Disbursements (taxes included where applicable)

Disbursements are items arranged for and possibly paid for on your behalf by us. You are expected to pay for these items at the time the contract is entered into. The following are some items that are often identified as disbursements:

Coroner's Fee

•This is a fee charged by the coroner for issuing a certificate that allows cremation to take place. The fee is set by the Chief Coroner of Ontario and is currently $75.

Cremation Fee

•This is a fee charged by a crematorium for cremation (amount cannot be pre-paid to Simple Wishes of the North Inc.). 

The current fee at Lakeview is $565 (taxes included).

Municipal Death Registration Fee

•This is a fee charged by the Sub Registrars Office (Municipality)  to register the death. The fee is set by the municipality and is currently $20.

Newspaper or Radio Notices

•These are charges for death notices placed in newspapers or radio or other media outlets

Payment

Unless otherwise specified, payment is due within 30 days of signing the contract. Payment may be made by cash, cheque, debit, and most major credit cards. Amounts outstanding after that date will bear interest at the rate of 1.5% per month (19.56% APR), calculated daily and compounded monthly, from the due date until paid in full.

There will be a charge of $40.00 for any non-sufficient funds (NSF) cheques returned by the bank. Any cost of collection shall be the responsibility of the purchaser.

Pre-Payment

For your convenience, we offer the option of prepaying services and/or supplies. When prepaying, you pay for the services and supplies today, and the money will be used to pay for the services and supplies when they are provided at the time of death.

Trust: The funds will be placed in trust with Guaranteed Funeral Deposits (GFD) and will accrue interest until the contract is fulfilled (when the services and/or supplies are provided) or the contract is cancelled.
